Waynetown, Ind June 15 – Mrs. Bessie A Simpson, 40, wife of George W. Simpson, died Thursday at the family home here. Death was due to complications after a four weeks illness. She was born Feb 18, 1888, near Stone Bluff, a daughter of George and Mary (Shelley) Babb. She was married to Mr. Simpson June 6, 1910. She was an active member of the Waynetown Baptist Church. Surviving besides the husband, is a son, Julius C. Simpson, the father and a stepmother of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Hosea Short of Urbana, Ill; three brothers, JW Babb of Lafayette; Vernon Babb of Mellott and Cecil M. Babb of Champaign, Ill; four half sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Balser and Miss Clara Babb, both of Lafayette and Misses Zeta and Lucy Babb of Attica; six half brothers, Loel of Champaign; William, Leland, Fred, Frank and Elston of Attica.  Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the Waynetown Baptist Church. Rev Cletis Brown will officiate; burial in Waynetown Masonic cemetery. - kbz

Waynetown June 14 - Mrs. Bessie A. Simpson, a life-long resident of this community passed away Thursday at noon at her home here. Death was due to complications. She had been ill for the past four weeks and had been failing rapidly.  Mrs. Simpson was born Feb 18, 1888 near Stones Bluff the daughter of George and Mary Shelley Babb. She was married to George W. Simpson June 6, 1919. She was an active member of the Waynetown Baptist Church.  Surviving are the husband, one son, Julius C. Simpson, the father and stepmother of Attica, one sister, Mrs. Hosea Short of Urbana, Ill; three brothers, JW Babb of Lafayette; Vernon Babb of Mellott and Cecil McGuire Babb of Champaign, Ill; four half sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Balser of Lafayette; Miss Clara Babb of Lafayette and Miss Zeta and Lucy Babb of Attica; six half brothers, Loel of Champaign; William, Leland, Fred, Frank and Eston of Attica.  Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Waynetown Baptist Church with Rev. Cletis Brown in charge.  Interment will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
